Hopper Particles Simulation
NoAI: This model, simulation, images, or project may not be utilized within datasets, during the developmental process, or as inputs for generative AI programs.
Simulating emptying of a hopper filled with particles. This is an example/tutorial from OpenFOAM test cases. Solver employed for the simulaiton is icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam. icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam is a transient solver employed for the passive transport of a single kinematic particle cloud. It uses a pre-calculated velocity field to develop the particle cloud. OpenFOAM simulation files are also attached for download. Enjoy!

Hello, thank you for the uploaded materials.. May I ask how long did it take to run the complete simulation? I'm trying to run the tutorial provided by OpenFOAM as it is, but it's going to take an entire day even using parallelisation. Is it normal?

Hi Antonio, you are welcome. I don't remember as it was quite a while ago. But by looking at the log file (attached with this project) it seems it took around half day with run in parallel using 4 cpu's of a standard laptop with 8GB ram.
